112/08/07 Preferred Tools for Web Interface Prototype Design – Training Course

We were honored to have Professor Sun Ming-Yuan, Creative Director of Ming Design Studio, lead the Preferred Tools for Web Interface Prototype Design – Training Course. Today’s session focused on web interface (layout) design concepts, introducing prototype concepts, Figma overview, frame settings, component settings, FontAwesome, image insertion, and prototype setup. The course used Figma online software for hands-on practice, helping faculty, staff, and students gain a deeper understanding of web interface (layout) design and how to adjust new web interfaces effectively.

The course began with a personal data protection briefing conducted by the Office of Library and Information Services, explaining to website administrators the proper handling of personal data collected and used by the university, relevant regulations, and best practices. Key principles included secure data storage, retention periods, and data minimization to reduce the risk of data leaks.

Participants included website administrators of all units as well as faculty, staff, and students. Professor Sun Ming-Yuan first explained Figma and web interface (layout) design elements, demonstrated how to register, introduced the software features, and taught how to use Figma to communicate with vendors or team members and create conceptual design mockups.
