Call for Recommendations: 2027 Database Subscriptions Survey

publish date : 2025-11-10 update date : 2025-11-11

Dear Faculty and Students,

The library is planning to conduct the 2027 Database Subscription Survey in early next year. If you have any new database subscription requests, please feel free to submit your recommendations by November 30th (Sunday), including the following information:

  • Student/Employee ID
  • Database Name and URL
  • Recommendation Description (Please provide detailed information, as it will be used for review purposes)

If your recommended database passes the review, it will be included in the subscription starting in January 2027 based on the order of priority and budget.

We are also simultaneously gathering recommendations for "Important Databases." If a database has a significant impact on the development of the university, please submit a description on behalf of your unit by November 30th. The library will compile the submissions and forward them to the "Administrative Meeting" for review. Approved databases will be given priority for subscription.

Database Subscription Guidelines:

  1. Subscription Principle: Database subscriptions are conducted annually and are budget-controlled.
  2. Database List: We collect new subscriptions, renewals, trial databases, and recommended databases each year for the subscription survey.
  3. Important Databases: If a database has a significant impact on the university’s development, it must be submitted for "Administrative Meeting" review. Approved databases will be given priority and will not be included in the Subscription survey.
  4. Subscription Survey: In January each year, the library sends the survey to teaching units for them to fill out the recommended priority order based on their needs.
  5. Evaluation Method: Databases are evaluated based on unit recommendation points and usage statistics points to determine the subscription priority.
  6. Cost Evaluation: A usage cost evaluation will be conducted for databases. If the cost per use exceeds NT$200, the "Library Committee" will review whether to renew the subscription.
