Instructions for Thesis Submission for the first Semester of the 114 Academic Year

publish date : 2025-12-03 update date : 2025-12-16

Dear Master’s and Doctoral Students,

Thank you for attending the thesis submission session for the 114-1 semester (the 1st semester of the 114th academic year) (Fall 2025).
Attached are the Chinese and English handouts, the latest Thesis (Professional Practice Report) Format Guidelines, and the updated “Application for Delayed Release of Print Thesis.” Please review them carefully.

📌 Please take note of the following:

  1. You may now begin submitting your thesis and complete the 114-1 school departure procedures.
  2. Important deadlines – please avoid last-minute submissions:
    • The deadline to pass the oral defense is January 30. We strongly recommend not scheduling your defense at the last moment.
    • If you miss the 114-1 graduation, the next opportunity to receive your diploma will be late July 2026, which corresponds to the 114-2 graduation.
    • If you have not applied for your oral defense, please contact your department assistant immediately to confirm deadlines and required documents.
    • For Turnitin account applications or renewals, feel free to contact me directly.
  3. Important MoE Policy Update – Applies to Print Thesis Embargo Only:

Starting from oral defenses held on or after August 1, 2025, students who wish to delay the public release of their print thesis must use the new “Application for Delayed Release” form.

  • Applications must be submitted before the defense, and committee members must evaluate confidentiality, patent issues, or legal restrictions. The maximum embargo period is five years.
  • This embargo policy applies only to the print thesis and does not affect electronic file authorization.
  • Electronic Full-Text Thesis Authorization Remains Unchanged (PDF Only): If you plan to release your electronic thesis (PDF) within five years, including immediate release, simply select the release date in the National Central Library upload system and sign the authorization form with your advisor.
