The World Health Organization classifies obesity as a chronic disease. Compared to individuals with a healthy weight, those who are obese have:

  • Over 3 times the risk of developing diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and dyslipidemia (abnormal blood lipids)

  • Twice the risk of developing hypertension, cardiovascular disease, knee osteoarthritis, and gout

Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare also warns that obesity is closely linked to numerous chronic diseases, including cancer, degenerative arthritis, depression, and infertility—posing serious health risks that should not be ignored.

Maintaining a healthy weight begins with balanced nutrition and regular exercise.

Let’s work together to stay clear of the threats of obesity!
