Reading Area Instructions

1. Service Object: 3rd floor study room (for use by faculty, staff, and students), Library 4th to 8th floor (for use by both internal and external users).
2. Coverage Area: Please refer to the "Library Floor Plan".
3. Opening Hours: Please refer to the "Service Hours".
4. Entry Method:
   • Library: Located on the 4th to 8th floors of the library, entrance on the 4th floor, with no access control.
   • Study Room: Located on the 3rd floor of the library, entrance on the 3rd floor. With access control.
5. Usage Method: The library's collection of books, magazines, and newspapers are available for open-shelf browsing. Readers can select and read the materials and return them to their original location or designated area.
6. Common Notices for Reading Areas:
   • Readers should take good care of the library's materials and equipment, and not damage, destroy, or remove them without authorization. In addition to being liable for compensation, those who violate this rule may be subject to further punishment in serious cases.
   • Readers should dress appropriately, maintain silence, keep the environment clean, and refrain from smoking or eating in the reading areas. Those who violate this rule may be asked to leave the library, and in serious cases, may be subject to further processing.
   • Readers are responsible for their personal belongings and should carry them at all times. The library is not responsible for their safekeeping.
7. Notice for the 3rd Floor Study Room:
   • Access Control Period: There is access control during opening hours.
   • Swiping Card Access: Only those holding a student ID (must be held by the person), a faculty or staff service card (held by faculty or staff or their dependents) are allowed to enter and exit.
   • If a person has not used the seat continuously for one hour during the usage period, the library may retrieve any personal belongings left behind and store them at the circulation counter for retrieval or transfer them to the student affairs office for processing. The seat may be made available to other readers.
